Do you have any problems, other than that you're unemployed, a moron, and a dork? John McEnroe

Okay...so I'm not unemployed...but I kind of feel like that sometimes. This summer thing is GREAT, don't get me wrong, but I feel a little bit useless....
So, I did a fun project!
First I bought a 3 dollar frame at DI, fixed it, then primed and painted it!

Then we bought plywood and sheet metal, hen Uncle Wayne trimmed it to size for us!

But then, I had to trim it again a little bit...with a steak knife. I really need to learn to measure more precisely...or is it accurately...? Shoot, I should have paid better attention in Mrs. Vogler's Physics class!!

We didn't count on the wood and metal bending when we glued it together, which meant we had to hold it in place while gluing it to the frame.

But that didn't really work out, so I borrowed some clamps from Katie and Devin to hold it overnight.

In the mean time, we FINALLY got out basement living room set up!

The finished product! Our scrabble message board!!

Here's the next project for our living room!!

"Take only pictures, leave only footprints." - Anonymous

So, here's the story. I have been driving around at night, looking at all the HUGE houses in Orem. It has been so fun (and I promise not creepy at all)! While I was up there, I found a mystery road that had a sign that said "Motor Vehicle Access Restricted." It did NOT say, "No Motor Vehicle Access." How was I supposed to know what restrictions there were? Maybe it could only be fast cars? Maybe it could only be SUVs, for all I know, maybe the sign meant that it was restricted to just Silver Toyota Corollas!?
Even with all this confusion, I didnt end up going up the entire road. I confess, I got nervous, and backed down and went back home. What if there were like a whole group of crazies waiting at the top for me?? So anyway, I asked an Orem local later, and he said that it was a trailhead. A trailhead with two different hikes! I couldn't have gotten a better answer!! Well, I guess my friend saying, "It's a parking lot full of non-crazy boys who are all waiting for a redheaded SLP who plays the violin and who weirdly likes Michael Jackson and the Osmonds" might have been better. But, in the realm of reality, a trailhead is really a pretty great answer.
So. this morning I went with my friend Chelsee and decided to explore. It is SUCH a fun trail! We had a great time! Next time we are definitely going all the way to Ol' Bald Head...I mean...Little Baldy. Anyway, it was SO fun, and I got a GREAT blister, and I am so excited to go again!

"I'm changin' lanes, talkin' on the phone, drivin' way too fast"

Well. For starters, I found this awesome app that makes fun collages.

Oh I do love a good country concert. Thank you Chris Young for giving us a GREAT saturday night!
From L-R, top to bottom: Chris Young, Karen is taller!, Otter pops to kick things off, more Chris Young, Sisters :)

Like I said on facebook, I am 110% sure that I have the BEST nieces and nephews ever. From L-R, Top to Bottom: Gannon and Zacky taking pictures at church, Isla loving the tricycle, Zack eating a s'more, Carolina at cheer camp, Gannon posing on a mammoth.

Next, as I was doing some research (ok, watching USA for Africa, We are the World-and reading into the history of it), I came across a list of best-selling singles. I am embarrassed to report that I don't know all of them. I mean really, if a song has sold more than 30 million copies, shouldn't I at least be familiar with it?? So, I am going to get that way...ASAP.

Really, I don't have much else to report. Oh, we have some fun things planned: Manti Pageant, Lagoon, Rexburg, preparing Sunday School Lessons, campfires, camping, hiking, Seven Peaks, Rodeos, etc... You name it, we'll do it.

Control Principles

Harmonization

Distraction

Hyperextension
(this is my favorite)

Be careful. I'm learning how to be all self-defensive. defendable? defended? Anyway, I'm basically dangerous now.

What the??

I know what you are thinking. Purple? Orange? Purple AND orange together? This coming from the girl who has more gray, black, and navy blue (thank you for all the free t-shirts USU) than anything else?
I just thought it might be fun to try for a minute. Doesn't it seem just a little bit more summery (summerier?) than the black with the giant firework? ...considering I did put that one up for the New Year. I guess its time for a change. Purple and Orange it is.

Oh, and here are a few pictures, just for kicks.

Hmmmm, intriguing....

Now all my social group kids know what parts of our body help us to listen...and the whole world knows how bad of an artist I am...

Some BEAUTIFUL scenery from my spring break trip
Aaaaaand...just for fun.

"Even when I am sick and depressed, I still love life" - Arthur Rubinstein

Replace that box of nice, wonderful, soft tissues for a roll of toilet paper, and this is EXACTLY what I have looked like for the past three days.

I just hope its not:

Please, somebody come save me, or tell me what drugs to buy. I haven't been able to taste food for three days!!

P.S.
However, as miserable as it is to be sick, it sure makes my day when a student runs into my office to give me this:
